Group Senior Accountants (2x)
The Senior Accountant will work in the Statutory and Tax department and is a key team member to ensure the fulfillment of all accounting and compliance requirements of EMEA Entities; he/she will be responsible for journal entries and accounts reconciliations in compliance with IFRS, local statutory regulations and internal control system. Moreover he/she will act as key player to meet reporting deadlines for monthly and year-end closing as well as local tax deadlines.
He/she will play a pivotal role for the whole accounts payable process: acting as a team leader of the function, he/she will work to identify priorities, issues and improvement areas of the process
He/she operates closely with various departments (treasury, business support, internal audit, IT and operations), and ensures accuracy and timeliness of financial results and tax compliance. He/She will also have the responsibility to supervise and coach one direct report
The Senior accountant works closely with other team members to achieve common goals in a fast-paced environment.
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Responsibilities and Duties for the First Senior Accountant:
Accounts payable
* Understand the priorities and strategic goals of Accounts Payable
* Maintain and update systems used to manage the Accounts Payable process
* Train, coach and functionally direct a team within the organization
* Manage daily volumes and set clear priorities
* Have an excellent service orientated mindset
* Understands the concept of process excellence by constructively challenging status quo
* Initiate opportunity for business and process enhancement
General Ledger
* Prepare, record and supervise journal entries
* Control of trial balance - profit & loss and balance sheet accounts
* Reconcile bank and daily cash (store)
* Maintain ad update fixed assets ledger
* Interact with all departments throughout the organization, especially with stores
* Prepare Intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany balances
* Supervise the preparation / documentation of the year-end statutory financial statements, including the required disclosures
* Ensure tax compliance and reporting, including the preparation and submission of all local tax returns
* Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants
* Prepare ad-hoc accounting / analysis for specific transactions when necessary
* Continuously assess accounting processes and checks with the aim to increasing reporting efficiency and quality
* Manage key accounting and tax projects
* Supervise and coach a team of direct reports

Responsibilities and Duties for the Second Senior Accountant:
* Prepare and record journal entries

* Interact with all departments throughout the organization, especially with stores
* Prepare Intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany balances
* Support the preparation / documentation of the year-end statutory financial statements, including the required disclosures
* Ensure tax compliance and reporting, including the preparation and submission of all local tax returns
* Prepare and submit statistical reports
* Support external audit process
* Support the Accounting Manager in providing data to prepare ad-hoc accounting / analysis for specific transactions when necessary
* Continuous assessment of accounting processes and controls with the aim to increase reporting efficiency and quality
* Support the Accounting Manager in providing data to prepare ad-hoc accounting / analysis for specific transactions when necessary
* Be involved in key accounting and tax projects
* Supervise and coach one direct report
Direct reports: Junior Accountant
* A minimum of 4/5 years' experience in Accounting department
* Fluent in English and Italian (written and oral) French & Spanish will be considered a plus.
* SAP knowledge
* Good knowledge of VAT regulation
* Analytical and conceptual skills, strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
* Collaborative team player able to develop and sustain relationships internally and cross-functionally
* Ability to work under pressure
* Organizational skills and strong ownership of tasks
* Flexible, with enthusiastic and proactive attitude, actively participating as a leader
* Presentation and research skills
* Previous experience in retail sector will be considered a plus
