A technician for all terrains
The mechanic/technician pre-sets machines and starts them up. In case of a fault, he repairs the machine according to its manufacturing file. He does the work of both a multi-skilled technician and a micro mechanic: the first is to the watchmaking industry what the second is to industry in general – all that changes is the size of the machines. Depending on his specialism, the mechanic/technician verifies manufacturing processes from beginning to end. He then carries out tests, identifies possible improvements, eliminates machining defects and inspects the parts manufactured.
The work of a technician is often carried out alone, but contributes to the work of a team. Working hours are regular, although they are linked to production processes.
