Quality assurance and control manager
Method at the service of quality.
Quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) are specialisms that require the use of operational techniques and processes to meet quality criteria. These criteria are usually set by precise standards. Quality control includes product testing and adhering to performance criteria and traceability standards. Quality assurance goes further, and tries to improve or stabilise production by optimising processes. To achieve this, the quality assurance and control manager takes into account “tangible aspects” (machine efficiency, adjustment) and “intangible aspects” (staff integrity, corporate culture, motivation and team spirit).
QA QC managers work in the production industry. They are employees or consultants. The results of their work often have major financial implications for the company.
