Standards, molecules and the right formulas.
The chemist analyses, researches and develops synthetic molecules used to make numerous different substances including medicines, perfumes, detergents, materials, synthetic fibres, foodstuffs etc. He uses findings from lab research to implement industry projects. The chemist writes operating procedures, establishes graphs for consecutive reactions, determines the measures needed to protect the environment (soil, water, air). He sets the optimal production conditions from a qualitative and quantitative point of view.
The chemist is part of a multidisciplinary team where he may work side-by-side with doctors, biologists and agricultural engineers. He often works on his feet in a research laboratory or in an industrial production unit. His working hours are regular.
