Project Manager - Life Sciences

Your assignment

- Define, plan and lead cross-functional projects, programs of clinical projects and/or a sub-portfolio of smaller initiatives executed by external partners; combining rigor and precision with flexibility and agility, in alignment with the LS strategy, within agreed business benefits, scientific objectives, scope, budget, resources and timing; whilst adhering to quality and scientific standards, defining and using project management processes and agile principles
- Lead project resourcing processes, including resource estimating and ensuring appropriate resource allocation, as well as the budget, participating actively in several steps of financial life cycle
- Supervise Steering committees with senior managers (up to board level) to advise and ensure effective decision making and corrective action where required, as well as accurate status reporting. Ensure changes (e.g. to scope, budget, schedule) are effectively governed
- Coordinate procurement processes and activities with external and internal laboratories and partners, as well as internal resources
- Act pro-actively to increase quality and mitigate risks, collecting requirements and performing risk identification and analyses
- Provide succinct reporting and manage the project KPI?s, budget and schedules whilst liaising with the Portfolio/Governance Team and Senior Management and other Key Stakeholders.
- Lead collaboration and communication among team members and other stakeholders, as well as create and distribute information. Mentor/coach on good practice team working, collaboration over distance and project management. Coordinate sub-project and work package managers from multiple areas
- Once complete, ensure projects are effectively closed by finalizing results, obtaining Steering committee approval to close the project and completing hand-over activities

Your profile

- PhD or Master degree in life sciences fields is required
- Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA) is required, additional business management qualification(s) are desired
- Substantial experience in leading large-scale projects and programs, in the Life Sciences and Scientific and Medical Affairs areas. High flexibility to work across several disciplines and manage multiple projects in a program/portfolio setting
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and stakeholders from various disciplines and with high seniority level
- Communicate with sensitivity and diplomacy and ability to rapidly integrate the organization?s culture
- Excellent understanding of in vitro and in vivo screening and testing, clinical trials, Real-World-Evidence projects and/or the development of medical or laboratory devices
- Sound expertise in contract management, procurement and financial policies and systems
- Knowledge of regulatory environments and quality management systems such as OECD, GxP, ISO
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Fluent, well written and spoken English is a must
