Packaging Engineer

Your assignment

Support the development activities on electronic devices packaging:
- Coordinate the creation of technical drawings for packaging elements in PLM system (eg. Folding/rigid box, molded pulp, labels, booklets) in collaboration with the Senior Packaging Engineer in Asia, packaging vendor and PMI Prepress team
- Create or update the packaging technical specifications in PLM system
- Establish the packaging requirement procedures that will be used in the different external manufacturing sites in Asia to assemble the product into the packaging before shipment to market
- Create or maintain visual fault catalogues updated and ensure packaging specification on assembled packaging are clear and accepted by all parties (eg. vendor, manufacturing sites, quality, consumer team)

-Build a robust packaging database including benchmarked products that could be used as a base to drive discussion around ISP (Innovation, sustainability, and productivity) and with the consumer team
- Define and agree on inputs/outputs of the analysis
- Observe, measure, perform technical testing on the physical samples
- Compare the data and analyze to extract the relevant information on packaging structure, configuration, sustainability, labelling, etc...
- As an outcome of this study, a formal and summarized report will be shared to different groups within PMI
- Potential interaction with external Benchmarking agency

-Main contact for supporting European Fulfillment Hubs on Packaging activities related to electronic products
- Create and maintain General packaging specification, Technical drawing, specification up to date
- Liaise between EU supplier and EU fulfillment hub for new material supply
- Support validation of new EU packaging supplier (if needed)

Your profile

- College/University Degree with focus on Packaging / Engineering disciplines
- 2+ years? experience in CPG industry with professional know-how and exposure to the life cycle of printing/packaging development and/or analytical projects.
- Knowledge of packaging materials (rigid board, folding board, pulp, plastics, self adhesives), physical properties, transformation process, impact on manufacturing, packaging test methods
- Notion of statistics for basic analysis
- Fluent in both oral and written English
