Junior Accountants (5x)

Your assignment

Purpose of the Position - For three of them

The Junior Accountant will work in the Statutory and Tax department and is a key team player ensuring the flawless execution of all accounting related processes.

Three of them will manage the accounts payable process:
* The first one for the French and Spanish entities
* The second one for the Italian entities
* The third for German and Austrian entities
All of them will support the accounting manager in daily general accounting activities and tax compliance duties.

The Junior Accountant operates closely with various departments (treasury, business support, internal audit, IT and operations) and ensures accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable and month and year-end processes.


Purpose of the Position - For two of them

The fourth and fifth Junior Accountant will work in the Statutory and Tax department and support the fulfillment of accounting and compliance requirements of the Swiss Entities (Headquarter) and of two other EMEA entities; he/she will be responsible for journal entries and accounts reconciliations in compliance with IFRS, local statutory regulations and internal control system. Moreover, he/she will act as a key player to meet reporting deadlines for monthly and year-end closing as well as local tax deadlines.

He/She will operate closely with various departments (treasury, business support, internal audit, IT and operations), and ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable and month and year-end processes.

All Junior accountants will works closely with other team members to achieve common goals in a fast-paced environment.

Reports to: Senior Accountant (FR-ES, IT, CH and Other EMEA Entities), Accounting Manager (DE-AT) / Direct reports: None


Responsibilities and Duties for the first three Junior Accountants:

Accounts Payable
* Process and book vendor invoices ensuring proper coding & signature authority policy compliance
* Ensure that invoices follow the proper approval flow
* Check invoices (e.g. VAT, supplier bank details, payments terms etc)
* Prepare invoices for payment
* Book Travel expenses
* Archive invoices
* Interact with all departments to ensure a regular accounts payable process flow
* Reconcile vendors and update vendors? accounts
* Correspond with suppliers
* Follow-up on open prepayments and credit notes
* Support the team for the month-end closure and other ad hoc requests
* Identify and escalate accounts payable process inefficiencies with the aim to improving the process

General Ledger
* Prepare and record journal entries
* Check trial balance - profit & loss and balance sheet accounts
* Reconcile bank and daily cash (store)
* Maintain ad update fixed assets ledger
* Interact with all departments throughout the organization, especially with stores
* Prepare Intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany balances
* Support the preparation / documentation of the year-end statutory financial statements, including the required disclosures
* Ensure tax compliance and reporting, including the preparation and submission of all local tax returns
* Prepare and submit statistical reports
* Support external audit process
* Support the Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager in providing data to prepare ad-hoc accounting / analysis for specific transactions when necessary
* Continuously assess accounting processes and checks with the aim to increasing reporting efficiency and quality


Responsibilities and Duties for the fourth and fifth Junior Accountants:

* Reconcile bank and daily cash (store)
* Maintain and update fixed assets ledger
* Interact with all departments throughout the organization, especially with stores
* Prepare Intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany balances
* Support the preparation / documentation of the year-end statutory financial statements, including the required disclosures
* Ensure tax compliance and reporting, including the preparation and submission of all local tax returns
* Prepare and submit statistical reports
* Support external audit process
* Support the Senior Accountant in providing data to prepare ad-hoc accounting / analysis for specific transactions when necessary
* Continuously assess accounting processes and checks with the aim to increasing reporting efficiency and quality

Your profile

* A minimum of 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable
* 1° Junior Accountant - Fluent in both English and French (written and oral). Spanish will be considered a plus
* 2° Junior Accountant - Fluent in both English and German (written and oral)
* 3° Junior Accountant - Fluent in both English and Italian (written and oral)
* 4°/5°Junior Accountants - Fluent in both English and German (written and oral) Dutch will be considered a plus
* SAP knowledge
* Good knowledge of VAT regulations
* Collaborative team player able to develop and sustain relationships internally and cross-functionally
* Able to work under pressure
* Positive attitude with proven ability to handle challenges and overcome obstacles
* Organizational skills and ownership of tasks
* Flexible, with an enthusiastic and proactive attitude
* Presentation and research skills
* Previous experience in retail sector will be considered a plus
