For an important company, we are looking for the following profile:
Editorial Operations Manager
- Checks new and revised submissions for peer review and processes the Decision Letters to the authors based on the Editor’s decisions;
- Monitors the progress of new, revised, and resubmitted manuscripts throughout the review process;
- Checks the accepted manuscript files and coordinates with the publisher’s production team;
- Provides administrative and technical support to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC), other journal editors, reviewers and editorial board members;
- Acts as the first contact for the coordination of supplement issues and other commercial projects;
- Responds to miscellaneous inquiries from the authors and reviewers concerning copyrights, authorship disputes, and other ethics-related inquiries;
- Monitors the journal performance and reports to the Editor and Head of Editorial to ensure the on-target execution of journal targets;
- Updates and maintains social media feeds (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for the journal;
- Ensures the published output reflects best practices and meets current standards of publication ethics;
- Actively engages with the Head of Editorial and Publication to develop new journal initiatives by identifying various growth and development opportunities;
- Supports the Head of Editorial and Publication in team management.
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role;
- Excellent command/highly proficient in spoken and written English;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Organizational and time-management skills;
- A great eye for detail and the ability to spot mistakes;
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team;
- Previous experience with a publisher and research experience is an asset;
- Ability to travel at least twice a year;
