Assistant Scientist
Independently suggest, set-up, and carry out multi-step syntheses of organic compounds and organometallic complexes.
Independently plan and carry out experiments from milligram up to kilogram scale to support the process development in close collaboration with the Process Safety lab.
Isolate and purify final products by common methods such as distillation, crystallization, extraction, and column chromatography.
Analyze and identify products and intermediates through routine analytical methods such as NMR, IR, GC, HPLC and elucidate structures of new compounds.
Be responsible of the good operation and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
Record all experimental details in the electronic notebook and strictly respect society's HS&E code of conduct
Master in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or equivalent education/experience. Professional experience in fine chemical industry is a plus.
Proven hands on experience in synthesis and development of small organic molecules: attention to detail and safety are essential.
Capacity to work in teams but capable of carrying out her/his assignments independently, good communicator, result oriented.
Passionate about organic chemistry, curiosity, open to new challenges and eager to learn new skills.
Experience in industrial chemistry and chemical engineering are welcome but not required.
Proficient with IT tools.
Fluent in French. English is a strong plus.
