The electrical fitter installs and maintains electric grids and communication networks. He creates infrastructure in the following sectors: power, telecommunications, security and surveillance, and automatic controls. He inspects and makes adjustments using tools that measure voltage, current and power. He sets up antenna and satellite receptors and links these to transmitters, and verifies the quality of transmission.
He works inside homes, industrial, administrative and commercial buildings. He is all-rounder, who bases his work on plans drawn up by engineers, architects and technicians. On the building site, he works in a small team and collaborates with other professionals (bricklayers, painters etc.) When fixing faults at client premises, he sometimes works alone.
