Are you looking for a full-time job or a temporary position?
The very first step for you is to create a Curriculum Vitae or CV.
Are you responding to an ad or is this a spontaneous application?
The second step is to write a cover letter. The content of your letter will differ depending on whether you are responding to an ad or making a spontaneous application.
Applying by mail or by e-mail?
Nowadays sending an application by e-mail or completing an online form are increasingly common. This approach involves procedures that differ from traditional mailing.
If you are applying in French-speaking Switzerland, the minimum application (CV + cover letter) is more than enough for most companies.
In German-speaking Switzerland, the requirements are different: it is preferable to send a complete file at the outset.
A complete application = CV + cover letter + copies of school, university and language diplomas/certificates and work certificates/recommendations.
Employment agency: When you contact Manpower, your file will first be taken into account by one of our consultants. Therefore, the more information about your work record, experience and education there is in your CV, the greater the chances are of us offering you a position or assignment. But be careful: too many details can obscure your key skills.
